As I didn't attend the think tank, I can't describe the topics as good as my classmates. However, thanks to them (with what they told me), I can give my point of view on the discussions they had with professionals during the day.
First, I can say that our society evolved a lot through time, especially these thirty years, as new technologies and internet became an everyday life tool.
Regarding companies, they evolved with our society also and now focus more on their customers than communicate on their products. In a sense, I think it is normal and they would have do it sooner or later. Indeed, we can say that people attach more importance to values, feelings and image of a brand, more particularly in the luxury market. Quality of products are surely important but when customers buy a new product, they want to be part of something, a "special world". Thus, I consider that the new concept of luxury on the net is very relevant.
Regarding the online reviews and revenue, I had experience this part in one of my internships. It seems that there is an unbreakable link because customers want to share their experiences and have others opinions as well. Nevertheless, I think that hoteliers need to manage well this link as it could have a very good impact on the hotel reputation as a negative one. If a hotel doesn't pay attention to all these online tools and comments, its reputation and image can vary a lot.
On the augmented reality topic, I think that concierges can't be replaced through time. Besides, customers would still need a human contact even they are using more and more this type of tools.
Finally, regarding the Fastbooking Application, I think it is very great that all companies create all these different types of apps. However, all these are designed for iPhone thus I have a question: what if we don't have iPhone or smartphone? It is truly good functions but we can't all benefit of it.
